Lutsk is the jazz capital of the Western Ukraine!

This is the decision Jean-Pierre Fröli (vocal, guitar) and Olexiy Boholyubov made while finishing their gig. The gig took place in a club called “Maydan” in the framework of monthly thematic jazz evenings organized by an NGO “The Lutsk Jazz Club” (www.jazzclub.lutsk.ua), the partner of the project is the “Maydan”club.

The hostess of the party, Natalya Voytovych, told about some interesting facts from the history of jazz music and about swing – it was the swing rhythm that prevailed that night.

The audience warmly greeted the musicians. The unceasing applause made Jean-Pierre and Olexiy play an encore. The audience was astonished by the jam-session, in which Oleg and Taras Bakovsky (trumpet, sax) took part.

To crown it all, a photographer Olexandr Bilchuk presented Jean Pierre a picture that was taken during his performance at the «Art Jazz Cooperation 2008» festival. The musicians were so delighted that they couldn’t but play one more tune – one of the most well-known jazz tunes - «Summertime».

The audience is waiting for some new shows, musicians are waiting for some new gigs and The Lutsk Jazz Club is preparing some interesting music for you.

March 15 stands for “some new jazz” for you! Keep jazz-ing!
